- Discuss this Extension -
I have developed an extension for the dotnetblogengine.net platform. This feature will replace certain key words with a link to a site you specify. I have named it "Quick Links", and using it is rather easy.
After following the README.txt file in the zip file you will see a new option in the Extensions tab of your administrative section. You can click the Edit to add more settings to this extension.
Once you get into the Extension manager part of the site you can specify what tags to replace. A sample setting will look like this:
The syntax for this would look like: [bcc]Visit my church[/bcc]. I have not installed this on my public blog yet, so this is not a short cut :-)
So download it for yourself!
QuickLinks1.2.zip (3.21 kb) - Version 1.2 - January 3, 2007
- Version 1.2 works with the new Extension manager that is in version 1.3 of the DotNetBlogEngine.
For Older Versions scroll to the bottom of this page.
One quick note to make is that this will account for some human error but not all. If you have the following post, with the entry above:
Visit [bcc]my church.
This will not be replaced with a link due to the lack of a closing tag. However if you have this:
Visit [bcc]my church or some other [some other link]church[/some other link]. But I would prefer if you visit [bcc]my church[/bcc].
The extension will wrap a link from the first bcc to the last /bcc. But the middle link would mess it up a bit and the rendering is up to your browser. So be careful!
Enjoy!
Older Versions
QuickLinks1.1.zip (6.04 kb) - Version 1.1 - December 15, 2007
- Version 1.1 has some tie into this extension.
If you use version 1.1 you should get the other extension as well. But
if you don't, clicking the redirect check box in the admin page will
result in a javascript error on your page. There are no functional
differences in the core function of this extension between 1.0 and 1.1.
