I hate finding items in my start menu. I've installed so many applications over the years that finding what I want is nearly impossible.
In comes Launchy. Launchy allows me to set a key command to launch it, then within its window I can start typing the name of an application and launch it!
They just released version 2.0. If you've never heard of it, give it a whirl.
Don't see a whole lot of difference from 2.0 and 1.x, but its still worth the shout out.

A couple guys here at the office use Launchy, but I've already got Google Desktop installed and it has a similar feature. Hitting ctrl twice brings up the search box, and if you've ticked a box in the settings, it will launch apps from here as well. I would use Launchy though if I hadn't already had Google Desktop installed.

GD is an OK application, but its bloat stops me from using it much.
